Before the famous Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe), lets first visit another famous mountain Village Grindelwald in the Bernese Oberland at the foot of the Eiger North Face. Best known place for tourism which began to develop in the 18th century.
Around Grindelwald there are 300 km of hiking trails and one of the largest Ski resorts in the Jungfrau region. Local mountain guides ascended the summits of the region with English tourists. The hike from Grindelwald-First along the Bachalpsee to the Berghotel Faulhorn and on to the Schynige Platte is one of the most beautiful tours in the region. From the Männlichen to the Kleine Scheidegg, an easy walk leads you to a fantastic view of the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
We were here in the month of August, the weather was pleasant and the village resort was blooming and colourful to have a stroll around.
Some pics of the village.
